Here's what it actually means
An Enbridge Type A (Red Tag) or Type B (Warning Tag) is issued when a certified gas technician finds your gas appliance (furnace, boiler, gas line, rooftop unit, water heater or any other gas appliances) unsafe or not up to code.

Your equipment is considered an immediate safety hazard (carbon monoxide, gas leak, fire risk), and the gas will be shut off right away.
